Is This the Best Ghost Photo Ever?
At first glance I just had to say no. Why? Fake ghost photos are created in bulk daily for dozens of reasons. Sometimes someone gets bold enough to enclose one in a little press release in hopes that a paranormal news blogger will pick it up and run with it. Upon second inspection I must say the photo is extremely interesting. So interesting that I think it is far too perfect to be a ghost photo.
Interestingly, the photo is said to have been taken August 8th, 2009. The press release was made on January 8th, quite a while to sit on the photo of the century. So, why is there a photo stamp of "1953-02-02"? (Which is clearly added after the photo was taken by the way).
Let me fist state that ghosts are not solid objects. They do not reflect light and therefore cannot be photographed. If this were possible I highly doubt that their nose and other objects would reflect in the flash (even though they state the flash was not used). Even if they were, the period dress represented would never have been worn to show so much cleavange. While many may appreciate this in this day and age, it would not have been appropriate, acceptable, or even allowed to be worn in public by a young girl. The hair style is also wrong. The big giveaway that this photo is a fake is the date stamp. A quick glance at my most basic image viewing software shows that this was added post photo. I haven't investigated the photo at a deeper level, but I have no desire to chase this ghost.
The girl in the ghost photo makes another appearance. This time it's to say, that she's the one in the picture and she's definitely not dead. The woman has been identified as Megan Ann Walker, now we wonder if any criminal charges will be brought upon the people responsible for this fraud or for perpetuating it. Something should be done from people creating fake evidence to get attention through the press.
